
Spring Hill ISD Education Foundation Funding Priorities
Initial Programs
The Spring Hill District (teachers & administrators), jointly with the Spring Hill ISD Education Foundation, has targeted the following program priorities that align with and complement the District’s Mission and Strategic Plan:
Technology Initiatives (up to $50,000 /District; up to $10,000 Campus; up to $3,000 Team of Teachers; or up to $1,000 Individual Teacher) provide funds for 2007-2008 technology in the following areas:
- Software for online attendance, grade reporting, and review/remediation for student assessment (ie. TAKS and SAT/ACT).
- Hardware to update labs with new computers, laser printers, graphing calculators.
- Create two new computer labs.
- Grade specific science Skills Bank and tutors.
- Instructional supplies within areas of technology that impact student learning and align with the District’s Technology Plan in grades pre-k through 12.
Staff Development Initiatives (up to $10,000/District; up to $2500/Campus; or up to $1,500/Individual Teacher) provide funds for staff development to enhance the learning process. Specific areas of emphasis include the following:
- Teacher training to improve instruction in science, math, and reading.
- Registration fees and travel expenses to allow teachers to attend continued education opportunities.
- Guest speaker honorariums for teacher training opportunities.
- Teacher training for special programs such as Rigby Reading and Advanced Placement (AP).
- Vertical alignment of curriculum beginning with grades pre-k through 6.
Teaching Enrichment Grants:
Special Projects for Extended Learning Experience (up to $750/Individual Teacher for a total $7,500 annually) is an interim grant designed to meet the needs of teachers that discover a unique classroom learning or staff development opportunity that did not exist or was not known prior to the submission deadlines for other Spring Hill ISD Education Foundation grants.

Future Programs
Fine Arts Grants (up to $25,000 /District; up to $10,000 /Campus) provide funds for supplies in the areas of music, drama, literature and art, as well as for specialists to assist instructionally, and that align with the District’s mission and priorities.
Extended Learning Experiences (up to $25,000 /District; up to $10,000 /campus; up to $1,500 /student scholarships) provide funds for activities for students and teachers that align with the District’s Strategic Plan. Examples of use of funds include the following:
- UIL teacher stipends
- Texas Math Science Team: transportation and entry fees for meets
- Camp Tyler
- Camp Gilmont (science)
- Summer computer camp at Spring Hill for elementary age students
- Universities – LeTourneau
Special Initiatives (funding level determined by request) provide funds for special needs in areas including personnel and/or instructional equipment or supplies that complement the District’s Strategic Plan. Areas include the following:
- Counselor (Primary/Intermediate)
- Dyslexia (Primary/Intermediate)
- Parent Education
- Media (District wide)
